There are many competitions for gin. At this stage of our distilling journey we have decided to only enter the National Australian Awards and the Western Australian Awards. For a gold you need over 90 points, a silver over 80 points and a bronze over 70 points. Not many golds are given out!

90.00 points ’Good integration of flavours. Bright juniper palate with citrus, dry and clean.’

 

LUST, SILVER MEDAL WINNER

82.50 points.Good flavours and aromas, nice and fresh, good juniper and citrus character, smooth palate.’

GLUTTONY, SILVER MEDAL WINNER

85.00 points. ‘Good flavours and lingering finish, piney, woody juniper dominant, forest floor, good intensity, nice length of palate, juicy finish. Classic London dry style.’

AUSTRALIAN AQUAVIT, SILVER MEDAL WINNER

83.50 points. ‘Caraway spices, clean fresh with complexity. The palate is spicy, balanced with a nice woody dryness.’

 

PRIDE, BRONZE MEDAL WINNER

79.75 points. (So close to silver - 0.25 points!) ‘We liked this gin, good savoury flavours and structure…this is more of a contemporary rather than London dry style, but a lovely and successful spirit overall.’

SLOTH, BRONZE MEDAL WINNER

74.75 points ‘Nice oiliness, good juniper and citrus, especially on the nose.’

88.5 points. (So close to winning the first WA Gold in this inaugural competition - only 1-5 points short!) ‘Good mouthful, wonderfully balanced, juniper through the middle, transitioning to fruity pine. Savoury herbal finish. A well balanced and tasty spirit. Very well integrated.’

86.0 points ‘Delightful. Great herbal balance with a touch of sweetness.’

76.7 points ‘Creamy, buttery, well balanced. Great gin, fresh and some nice aromatics on the nose. Palette aligns well with the nose with some good closely woven botanicals."

82.70 points. Nose floral and herbaceous strawberry gun & lemon myrtle. Palate bright floral. Clean.

GLUTTONY, SILVER MEDAL WINNER

87.20 points. Lovely dry juniper lead nose, herbal notes. A very approachable gin.

75.00 points. Nose spiced juniper.

79.60 points (0.4 points to a silver - what a miss!) Lots of lemon. Nuanced and citrusy. Linguering and pleasant.

85.00 points. Heavy cardamon nose with green apple notes. Palate a little more complex with citrus and spice coming through. Finish is balanced.

82.50 points. Alluring spice on the nose. Lemon bob-bon.

87.00 points. Soft citrus, light floral, juniper nose with some decent botanical notes. Smooth oil mouth with nice composition and body.

WRATH, BRONZE MEDAL WINNER

75.75 points. Lots of aromats and a fair bit of juniper poking through. Spiceworld staring the Spice Girls.

PERTH PINK, BRONZE MEDAL WINNER

79.01 points (0.09 to a silver - that's as real shame for our most loved product!). Strong contemporary botanical nose and palate. Soft palate and long finish.
